After the Redesign
New Spaces = New Names
With the redesign of the space, I thought it would be fun to rename the spaces, and in keeping with Facebook fashion with naming rooms with themed names, I came up with the idea to have the spaces renamed to terms from the video rental era. The Studio City studio is now Be Kind Rewind and the FBMC Oculus room that is now the green room is now 3 Day Rental. We had planned for the future Instagram studio to be called Late Fees.
Better overall experience for the talent and the viewer
We noticed that the incoming talent were a lot more comfortable on camera now that they were insulated from the work spaces. This led to a better, more involved Facebook Live experience. In turn, viewers were more engaged, and asked more questions and commented more on the live stream.
A different look for everyone
As I mentioned in my previous post, we needed different sets to cater to a wide array of different guests. As you can see below, my team rotated cameras, lighting, audio, and streaming gear within the 16'x20' space to give each Partner their own look.

The 3-Day Rental green room
In addition to the new studio space, we also opened the New York rooftop green room equipped with a TV monitor so the talent's entourages could watch the Facebook Live happening in the Studio.
